# Flare vs Whazzup

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Flare at 6.8K against Whazzup's 6. Flare also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days) and chart position (#117 vs unranked). Whazzup's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Flare against 5.0 for Whazzup. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flare has 6.8K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flare ships an update every 3 days, Whazzup every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
