# Flare vs GuideApp

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flare at none against GuideApp's 10. Flare also leads on ratings volume (6.9K vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GuideApp sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Flare asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Flare against 5.0 for GuideApp. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flare has 6.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flare ships an update every 4 days, GuideApp every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
