# Giant Toad vs D&D Character

The clearest difference is review sentiment: D&D Character at 100% against Giant Toad's 48%. D&D Character also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.5) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). Giant Toad's advantage is ratings volume (36 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Giant Toad sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and D&D Character sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

D&D Character holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Giant Toad has 36 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of Giant Toad's written reviews are positive against 100% of D&D Character's.

Giant Toad ships an update monthly, D&D Character every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
