# Goluk vs Nice DVR

The clearest difference is rating: Nice DVR at 4.6 against Goluk's 1.1. Nice DVR also leads on ratings volume (100 vs 10). Goluk's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nice DVR holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nice DVR has 100 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of Goluk's written reviews are positive against 12% of Nice DVR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Goluk ships an update monthly, Nice DVR every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
