# Exceed LMS vs Stepful

The clearest difference is rating: Exceed LMS at 4.7 against Stepful's 4.0. Exceed LMS also leads on ratings volume (954 vs 28) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 10 months). Stepful's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 21%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Exceed LMS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Exceed LMS has 954 ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Exceed LMS's written reviews are positive against 33% of Stepful's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Exceed LMS ships an update every 3 months, Stepful every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
