# Esoteric Sound Stream vs Anthem Remote

The clearest difference is rating: Esoteric Sound Stream at 3.0 against Anthem Remote's 2.3. Anthem Remote's advantage is ratings volume (152 vs 6) and review sentiment (25% vs 12%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Esoteric Sound Stream holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Anthem Remote has 152 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 12% of Esoteric Sound Stream's written reviews are positive against 25% of Anthem Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Esoteric Sound Stream ships an update every 8 months, Anthem Remote every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
