# Video2GIF+ vs GEN

The clearest difference is ads: GEN at none against Video2GIF+'s shown. GEN also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). Video2GIF+'s advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video2GIF+ sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per 6 months and GEN sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video2GIF+ ships an update every 2 months, GEN every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
