# MCQS vs AcadAI

The clearest difference is rating: AcadAI at 4.6 against MCQS's 4.0. AcadAI also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 5) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). MCQS's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MCQS sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $8.99 per month and AcadAI sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AcadAI holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AcadAI has 2.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of MCQS's written reviews are positive against 48% of AcadAI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MCQS ships an update every 2 weeks, AcadAI weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
