# Ministry Maps vs Simpleum Safe Encryption

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ministry Maps at 71% against Simpleum Safe Encryption's 20%. Ministry Maps also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). Simpleum Safe Encryption's advantage is rating (3.9 vs 2.0) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 11 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simpleum Safe Encryption sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Ministry Maps asks for nothing beyond the download.

Simpleum Safe Encryption holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simpleum Safe Encryption has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Ministry Maps's written reviews are positive against 20% of Simpleum Safe Encryption's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ministry Maps ships an update every 11 months, Simpleum Safe Encryption every 11 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
