# Intercede vs The Novena App

Intercede and The Novena App both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 93% of Intercede's written reviews are positive against 42% of The Novena App's. Intercede also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months). The Novena App's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Intercede sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and The Novena App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Intercede against 4.8 for The Novena App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Intercede has 36K ratings behind it against 913, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 93% of Intercede's written reviews are positive against 42% of The Novena App's.

Intercede ships an update fortnightly, The Novena App every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
