# Intercede vs Catholic Prayers Novena

The clearest difference is rating: Intercede at 5.0 against Catholic Prayers Novena's 3.0. Intercede also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (36K vs 2). Catholic Prayers Novena's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Intercede sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Catholic Prayers Novena sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Intercede holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Intercede has 36K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Intercede's written reviews are positive against 100% of Catholic Prayers Novena's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Intercede ships an update fortnightly, Catholic Prayers Novena every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
