# ClockIn Portal vs Toolr

The clearest difference is rating: ClockIn Portal at 4.7 against Toolr's 4.2. ClockIn Portal also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 19) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.1). Toolr's advantage is ratings volume (358 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Toolr sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. ClockIn Portal asks for nothing beyond the download.

ClockIn Portal holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Toolr has 358 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of ClockIn Portal's written reviews are positive against 46% of Toolr's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ClockIn Portal ships an update fortnightly, Toolr every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
