# BBC America vs split

The clearest difference is review sentiment: split at 100% against BBC America's 5%. split also leads on rating (5.0 vs 1.9) and ads (none vs shown). BBC America's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (589 vs 1). On price, update cadence, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. split sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. BBC America asks for nothing beyond the download.

split holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BBC America has 589 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 5% of BBC America's written reviews are positive against 100% of split's.

BBC America ships an update monthly, split every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
