# TIMEBOX vs FocusBox

The clearest difference is monetization model: TIMEBOX at free with in-app purchases against FocusBox's subscription. TIMEBOX also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 16). FocusBox's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TIMEBOX sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and FocusBox sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TIMEBOX holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 38 and 13 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 97% of TIMEBOX's written reviews are positive against 95% of FocusBox's.

TIMEBOX ships an update every 3 weeks, FocusBox every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
