# ShawnAccess vs Alex Sampson

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ShawnAccess at none against Alex Sampson's 12. ShawnAccess also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). Alex Sampson's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 82%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Alex Sampson sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. ShawnAccess asks for nothing beyond the download.

ShawnAccess holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ShawnAccess has 305 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of ShawnAccess's written reviews are positive against 100% of Alex Sampson's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ShawnAccess ships an update every 2 weeks, Alex Sampson every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
