# slither.io vs Paper.io 2

The clearest difference is rating: Paper.io 2 at 4.5 against slither.io's 3.8. Paper.io 2 also leads on ratings volume (3M vs 3.3K) and chart position (#10 vs #42). slither.io's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. slither.io sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Paper.io 2 sells 18 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Paper.io 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paper.io 2 has 3M ratings behind it against 3.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of slither.io's written reviews are positive against 52% of Paper.io 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

slither.io ships an update weekly, Paper.io 2 every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
