# Construction Calculator vs Chalk

The clearest difference is update cadence: Construction Calculator at every 5 days against Chalk's every 3 months. Construction Calculator also leads on ratings volume (672 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). Chalk's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Construction Calculator sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Chalk sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Construction Calculator has 672 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Construction Calculator ships an update every 5 days, Chalk every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
