# Speed Reading IQ+ vs Speed reading

The clearest difference is price: Speed reading at Free against Speed Reading IQ+'s $4.99. Speed reading also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 12 months). Speed Reading IQ+'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (46% vs 25%). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Speed reading is free to download; Speed Reading IQ+ costs $4.99 up front. Speed reading sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Speed Reading IQ+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speed reading holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed reading has 145 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Speed Reading IQ+'s written reviews are positive against 25% of Speed reading's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speed Reading IQ+ ships an update every 12 months, Speed reading every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
