# Shapical vs Unsplash

The clearest difference is rating: Unsplash at 4.9 against Shapical's 3.0. Unsplash also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ratings volume (13K vs 6). Shapical's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shapical sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Unsplash asks for nothing beyond the download.

Unsplash holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Unsplash has 13K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Shapical's written reviews are positive against 75% of Unsplash's.

Shapical ships an update every 6 weeks, Unsplash every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
