# Mars Info Lite vs GeoExplore

The clearest difference is rating: GeoExplore at 5.0 against Mars Info Lite's 4.4. GeoExplore also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Mars Info Lite's advantage is ratings volume (200 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 9 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GeoExplore holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mars Info Lite has 200 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mars Info Lite ships an update every 3 months, GeoExplore every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
