# Transmissão vs Runtime TV

The clearest difference is ads: Transmissão at none against Runtime TV's shown. Transmissão also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Runtime TV's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 11 months). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Transmissão holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Runtime TV has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Transmissão ships an update every 11 months, Runtime TV every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
