# NoteRacer vs Note Trainer

The clearest difference is update cadence: NoteRacer at fortnightly against Note Trainer's every 7 months. NoteRacer also leads on ratings volume (497 vs 63). Note Trainer's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 57%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteRacer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Note Trainer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for NoteRacer against 4.6 for Note Trainer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteRacer has 497 ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 57% of NoteRacer's written reviews are positive against 80% of Note Trainer's.

NoteRacer ships an update fortnightly, Note Trainer every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
