# Scriptation vs Permanote

The clearest difference is rating: Scriptation at 4.8 against Permanote's 3.5. Scriptation also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 10 months). Permanote's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scriptation sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Permanote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
