# BarcodeEasy vs BAR

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BAR at none against BarcodeEasy's 3. BAR also leads on ads (none vs shown). BarcodeEasy's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BarcodeEasy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. BAR asks for nothing beyond the download.

BarcodeEasy ships an update every 3 weeks, BAR every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
