# Savant vs Messana

The clearest difference is rating: Messana at 5.0 against Savant's 4.4. Messana also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Savant's advantage is review sentiment (36% vs 0%) and ratings volume (8.6K vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Messana holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Savant has 8.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of Savant's written reviews are positive against 0% of Messana's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Savant ships an update every 2 months, Messana monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
