# Savant vs Control4

The clearest difference is rating: Savant at 4.4 against Control4's 3.6. Savant also leads on ratings volume (8.2K vs 70) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). Control4's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Savant holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Savant has 8.2K ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of Savant's written reviews are positive against 39% of Control4's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Savant ships an update every 2 months, Control4 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
