# Nike vs ShopSimon

The clearest difference is rating: Nike at 4.9 against ShopSimon's 4.4. Nike also leads on ratings volume (1.7M vs 414) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). ShopSimon's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nike holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nike has 1.7M ratings behind it against 414, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Nike's written reviews are positive against 31% of ShopSimon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nike ships an update weekly, ShopSimon every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
