# Norton VPN vs VPN

The clearest difference is ads: Norton VPN at none against VPN's shown. Norton VPN also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and chart position (#60 vs unranked). VPN's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Norton VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 121K and 79K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Norton VPN's written reviews are positive against 37% of VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Norton VPN ships an update every 3 weeks, VPN every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 8, 2026.
