# TP vs Good Maps

The clearest difference is rating: Good Maps at 3.7 against TP's 2.3. Good Maps also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). TP's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (32% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Good Maps holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TP has 59 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of TP's written reviews are positive against 0% of Good Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TP ships an update every 3 weeks, Good Maps weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
