# Kanban Tool vs Kanban

The clearest difference is rating: Kanban at 4.5 against Kanban Tool's 3.7. Kanban also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (280 vs 20). Kanban Tool's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kanban sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Kanban Tool asks for nothing beyond the download.

Kanban holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kanban has 280 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Kanban Tool's written reviews are positive against 46% of Kanban's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kanban Tool ships an update every 10 months, Kanban fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
