# Planes Live vs Flight Tracker

The clearest difference is ads: Flight Tracker at none against Planes Live's shown. Flight Tracker also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Planes Live's advantage is ratings volume (93K vs 779) and chart position (#10 vs unranked). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Planes Live sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Flight Tracker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Planes Live against 4.6 for Flight Tracker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Planes Live has 93K ratings behind it against 779, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Planes Live ships an update every 3 weeks, Flight Tracker weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
