# ACT Prep & Practice by Magoosh vs Rex

The clearest difference is ratings volume: ACT Prep & Practice by Magoosh at 2.9K against Rex's 1. ACT Prep & Practice by Magoosh also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.6). Rex's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ACT Prep & Practice by Magoosh sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Rex sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Rex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ACT Prep & Practice by Magoosh has 2.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ACT Prep & Practice by Magoosh ships an update every 6 weeks, Rex weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
