# Dive Check vs Mares App

The clearest difference is rating: Mares App at 4.5 against Dive Check's 1.0. Mares App also leads on ratings volume (189 vs 2). Dive Check's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 weeks) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dive Check sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Mares App sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mares App holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mares App has 189 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Dive Check's written reviews are positive against 48% of Mares App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dive Check ships an update every 4 days, Mares App every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
