# Hipcam Smart & Secure Access vs VDP

The clearest difference is rating: Hipcam Smart & Secure Access at 4.3 against VDP's 3.7. Hipcam Smart & Secure Access also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (39 vs 3). VDP's advantage is review sentiment (11% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hipcam Smart & Secure Access holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hipcam Smart & Secure Access has 39 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Hipcam Smart & Secure Access's written reviews are positive against 11% of VDP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hipcam Smart & Secure Access ships an update fortnightly, VDP every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
