Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: RoByte at none against Remoku's shown. RoByte also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 32%) and ratings volume (256K vs 5.3K). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. RoByte sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Remoku sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for RoByte against 4.5 for Remoku. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RoByte has 256K ratings behind it against 5.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 53% of RoByte's written reviews are positive against 32% of Remoku's.
RoByte ships an update every 5 weeks, Remoku every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
