# Home Assistant vs Homey Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Homey Pro at 100% against Home Assistant's 54%. Homey Pro also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.4). Home Assistant's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (4.1K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Home Assistant holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Home Assistant has 4.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Home Assistant's written reviews are positive against 100% of Homey Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Home Assistant ships an update every 10 days, Homey Pro every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
