# Global Station Locator vs Sunoco

The clearest difference is rating: Sunoco at 4.8 against Global Station Locator's 4.3. Sunoco also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (13K vs 4). Global Station Locator's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (50% vs 35%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sunoco holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sunoco has 13K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Global Station Locator's written reviews are positive against 35% of Sunoco's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Global Station Locator ships an update every 11 months, Sunoco every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
