# Gyroscope vs STEPN

The clearest difference is rating: Gyroscope at 4.8 against STEPN's 4.2. Gyroscope also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and review sentiment (65% vs 49%). STEPN's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gyroscope sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $9.00 per 7 days and STEPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gyroscope holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: STEPN has 3K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 65% of Gyroscope's written reviews are positive against 49% of STEPN's.

Gyroscope ships an update weekly, STEPN monthly. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
