# Simple Notes. vs JotNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: JotNotes at every 3 days against Simple Notes.'s every 2 months. Simple Notes.'s advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (61 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes. sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and JotNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Simple Notes. against 4.7 for JotNotes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes. has 61 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Simple Notes.'s written reviews are positive against 67% of JotNotes's.

Simple Notes. ships an update every 2 months, JotNotes every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
