# Tinkafont vs Font Maker

The clearest difference is rating: Font Maker at 4.4 against Tinkafont's 3.4. Font Maker also leads on ratings volume (8.1K vs 17). Tinkafont's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 20%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tinkafont sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Font Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 8.1K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Tinkafont's written reviews are positive against 20% of Font Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tinkafont ships an update every 2 weeks, Font Maker every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
