# Asset vs Functions

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Asset at none against Functions's 3. Functions's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Functions sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Asset asks for nothing beyond the download.

Asset ships an update every 4 months, Functions every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
