# Raftr vs Yik Yak

The clearest difference is rating: Yik Yak at 3.9 against Raftr's 3.2. Yik Yak also leads on ratings volume (52K vs 53) and chart position (#30 vs unranked). Raftr's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yik Yak sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Raftr asks for nothing beyond the download.

Yik Yak holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yik Yak has 52K ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Raftr's written reviews are positive against 25% of Yik Yak's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Raftr ships an update every 10 days, Yik Yak weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
