# Pixel Art Camera vs CartoonIt

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CartoonIt at 100% against Pixel Art Camera's 66%. CartoonIt also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Pixel Art Camera's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pixel Art Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and CartoonIt sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CartoonIt holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixel Art Camera has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 66% of Pixel Art Camera's written reviews are positive against 100% of CartoonIt's.

Pixel Art Camera ships an update every 5 weeks, CartoonIt every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
