# Editable File vs Solid Notes

Editable File and Solid Notes both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 88% of Solid Notes's written reviews are positive against 13% of Editable File's. Solid Notes also leads on price (Free vs $0.49) and ratings volume (26 vs 1). Editable File's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2). On rating, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Solid Notes is free to download; Editable File costs $0.49 up front. Solid Notes sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Editable File asks for nothing beyond the download.

Editable File holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solid Notes has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Editable File's written reviews are positive against 88% of Solid Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
