# SMS Plus vs vSMS

The clearest difference is update cadence: vSMS at every 2 days against SMS Plus's fortnightly. SMS Plus's advantage is iOS requirement (7.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS Plus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and vSMS sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMS Plus ships an update fortnightly, vSMS every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
