# Focus Matrix vs PlaceLedger

The clearest difference is ads: PlaceLedger at none against Focus Matrix's shown. PlaceLedger also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Focus Matrix's advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Matrix sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PlaceLedger sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlaceLedger holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus Matrix has 1.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
