# PillDrill vs Max

The clearest difference is ads: PillDrill at none against Max's shown. PillDrill also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 75%). Max's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (9.9K vs 5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PillDrill holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Max has 9.9K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
