# Calendar vs Digital Planner for iPad

The clearest difference is rating: Calendar at 4.9 against Digital Planner for iPad's 4.3. Calendar also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (1.5M vs 2.1K). Digital Planner for iPad's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Planner for iPad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Calendar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Calendar holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendar has 1.5M ratings behind it against 2.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Calendar's written reviews are positive against 44% of Digital Planner for iPad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calendar ships an update every 4 months, Digital Planner for iPad every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
