# Mindvalley vs Optimal State

The clearest difference is monetization model: Optimal State at free with in-app purchases against Mindvalley's subscription. Optimal State also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Mindvalley's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (7.1K vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mindvalley sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days and Optimal State sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Optimal State holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mindvalley has 7.1K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Mindvalley's written reviews are positive against 100% of Optimal State's.

Mindvalley ships an update weekly, Optimal State every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
