# StarCam® vs Lok App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Lok App at none against StarCam®'s 12. StarCam®'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StarCam® sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Lok App asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for StarCam® against 5.0 for Lok App. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarCam® has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

StarCam® ships an update fortnightly, Lok App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
